The Ajax MotionCam detects motion just like a standard motion detector, but then does something no other device does: it takes a photo. A sequence of images is sent to the app—and to the monitoring center if you’re connected to it.

What the Photo Changes

An alarm without video forces you to make a decision in the dark: go home, call someone, or do nothing. An alarm with video lets you figure out what’s going on in just a few seconds—a curtain moving, or someone in the living room.

For a remote monitoring center, the difference is even more pronounced: the operator observes rather than interprets, which speeds up justified responses and eliminates unnecessary ones.

Prerequisites

Photo sharing requires a compatible hub: Hub 2, Hub 2 4G, or Hub 2 Plus. The Hub and Hub Plus hubs do not support this feature.
