A boiler room or mechanical room has two characteristics in common: smoke and dust are commonplace there, and that is precisely where carbon monoxide is produced. This detector is designed specifically for this combination of conditions.

Why no smoke detector?

A smoke detector in a boiler room may go off when the boiler starts up, due to temporary fumes, or because of dust. Removing it does not compromise the room’s safety: the heat detector detects the fire, and the CO detector detects carbon monoxide poisoning.

Where to install it

Boiler room, utility room, laundry room with water heater, garage with a stove. For living areas, choose a model with a smoke detector.
