PoE—Power over Ethernet—transmits power through the network cable. Each camera is connected via a single cable, eliminating the need for a nearby power outlet or a power supply unit that must be housed in a waterproof enclosure.

What Changes During Installation
The real cost of an outdoor camera isn’t the camera itself—it’s running the cable and ensuring there’s a power source at the chosen location. PoE eliminates the second constraint and allows you to place a camera where it’s needed rather than where there’s an outlet.
In the event of a power outage, a UPS connected to the recorder also keeps the cameras running, since they draw their power from it.
Choose between 8 and 16 channels
Both versions have 8 PoE ports. The 16-channel version can record 16 streams, 8 of which are powered via PoE—the others must be powered by other means. In addition, the H2D16PAC offers 16 PoE ports.
