This version of the Ajax NVR operates on a 9- to 16-volt DC power supply instead of AC power. It is designed for installations where DC power is already available: utility boxes, cabinets, UPS systems, backup batteries, or solar power systems.

What Direct Current Enables

A continuously powered recorder connects directly to a battery: video surveillance continues to operate during a power outage, without the need for an intermediate UPS. At a remote site or a solar installation, this is the only viable configuration.

Which version should I choose?

If your facility has a standard AC outlet,the Ajax StandardNVR is suitable. This version is only useful if there is a DC power source available.
